Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for all the kind Thanksgiving messages that I recieved back from all of you when I sent out my Thanksgiving "e-Card" to all of you! I love opening and reading messages from you!

Just a note to any of you that might have followed any of my posts about my family - I've decided not to "mix business and leisure" on this blog any longer - and have started my own personal blog - and will reserve this for GLMM related posts.

Mega Meet Photo Project

Mega Meet Photos - Retreat Photos - finding efficient ways to share the photos we take with all of you has NOT been easy. If you go to the GLMM page and scroll to the bottom, you can see the various different methods I've used over the years. Obviously, none have been easy enough for me to want to continue - so much so that the 2006 photos never got posted!!

But that's all changed now. What took me so long to find Flickr? I have no idea. Other bloggers in the scrapbook world have used them a lot - but I finally checked them out this week (motivated by another complete set of Retreat photos that I wanted to be able to share.)

I'm not finished yet - but all the photos from events in 2006 and 2007 are all uploaded and labeled on Flickr! I intend to keep working backwards, until I have uploaded all the digital photos that I have of Mega Meet related events!

Scrapbook Retreat Recovery...

What a great weekend! We had a great group of scrappers at our 5th Birthday retreat last weekend... and we all had a great time. Here are some hilights:

The new embellishment bar for shopping was a BIG hit! (and it looks so pretty!)

The embellie bar included ribbons, buttons and brads in all the colors of the rainbow - plus some specialty brads! Great for the finishing touch on a layout. We also stocked a variety of colors of cardstock in the bar, for those last minute "I don't have the right color" crises!

The bar will return at future retreats!

As usual, we had some scrappers who were very into the dress-up contests (what fun to get silly with the girls!) Our PJ contest winners were Stacy and Rachel - complete with purple hair! Becky won the individual award for her scrappers robe - complete with pockets for every scrapbook tool you can imagine!!

But the real silliness was Saturday night, for the Birthday Theme costume contest! I would guess that over half of the guests dressed up - and the creativity that they displayed for the birthday party theme was astounding. It was so awesome, we couldn't pick a winner - everyone won!! The highlight for me, though, was my mother and her friend Donna's rendition of "I c'ain't say no" from Oklahoma that she rewrote all the words, and then sang. I laughed so hard I cried!

Oh, when you look at the photos - you'll see a whole series of what we affectionately call the "Hair by Kendra" series. Kendra has been our massage therapist since our very first retreat, serving both the Northport Bay and Spider Lake locations. Kendra's signature is to end every massage with a scalp massage - which results in the lovely "hair by Kendra" do's. This retreat, we managed to snap photos of all but one of our guests after they had their massage! Don't they all look so happy?
