Homecoming - Freshman Year

It's Em's freshman year - and this is her first homecoming weekend. Despite a lack of sleep this week - she is having a blast! Here is a photo of the AWESOME freshman float. The giant disco ram spun around on top of the record. Emily didn't make it to as many of the float parties as she wanted to - because most of them conflicted with band - but she did have fun at the ones she went to - and Thursday night - she stayed until nearly midnight.

Both JV and Varsity Dance performed - plus the Marching Band - so Emily was pulling double duty at the game (and loving every minute of it).

Today was "get ready for the dance day". She and a whole group of friends are attending the dance together. I've posted some photos of the kids. It was cute - another mom gave them a ride to the restaurant. She called me later to tell me what Emily said on the ride over. "When I was little, I used to see all the older kids all dressed up, getting their pictures taken outside for homecoming, and I used to dream about when I would be old enough to go - and now IT'S REALLY HAPPENING!" Obviously, she was excited. I did the shuttle from the restaurant to the school - and the excitement was still going strong!
I've posted a few photos of Em and her date, and Em and her girlfriends, and then the whole gang that is going together to the dance!

FIVE (5) New Scrapbook & Craft Rummage Sale Contracts

That's right FIVE came in yesterday - so excitement is building for this new event! Pre-order your WRISTBAND for the sale, and save a buck!! Spread the word... it's going to be a fun day, with great deals, and fun stuff out at OU!!

Back to Scrapping!

After a dry-spell this summer, I got Back to Scrapping this past weekend! C & T came down and up respectively, and we had a girl's weekend of scrapping and shopping! We visited several local stores, and had lots of fun!!

Friday night, I arm-twisted them into going to the High School football game to watch my daughter and the Marching Band (Yay Rams). They agreed, on the condition that we leave after half-time, and head over to the Scrapbook Zone for Freaky Friday! (Like that took a lot of convincing!) We got some great deals, and had a yummy late dinner at Leo's next door. C & T have a penchant for fries with mayo (I prefer liquid cheese).

Saturday - well - we actually tried to get into the Reminisce Crop at the Zone - but we were #'s 3, 4 & 5 on the waiting list. Only #'s 1 and 2 got in. Bummer for us!! -- But that's OK - Scrapbook Emporium (in the opposite direction- but still about the same distance from my house) was having an all day Saturday crop too - so we headed there instead!

The bonus of going there, were the field trip opportunities!! Mid-morning, C's printer ran out of yellow ink (YES she came to scrapbook this weekend with her laptop and printer, because she hadn't printed any PICTURES yet - silly girl.... I'm one to talk though - I ran out - and she printed more for me too!) So, on our way to Office Depot, we checked out Little Scrapbox, and then the new Sterling Heights Archiver's (where we nearly had a brawl over which one of us was going to get to buy their ONLY copy of the new BH sketch book!! Cara won - but she let us all browse it!)

So - I posted a couple of my favorites from the day here - the rest are all posted over at the Gallery.

Back to School

OK - so I've been meaning to do this post for over a week. Sorry - crazy busy!

First day of school photo. Notice how dark it is... the HSchooler has to be at Zero Hour at 6:45am for Marching Band. Thank goodness the MSchooler was so excited to start that she was already up and dressed at 6:30am when I took this!

These are the first back to school photos I've had to take in the DARK! Later I got Annie walking to her first day of MSchool - by then it was daylight!!

Scrapbook & Craft Rummage Sale

I can't wait for this fun new event! Everyone we tell about it writes down the date!

You may have noticed a slight change - we had a moment (more like a week and a half) of panic in September when OU called us to tell us that they had doublebooked the Shotwell Gustafson Pavilion for our Rummage Sale date. GULP!! We'd already rescheduled once - didn't want to do THAT again!

After a week and a half of uncertainty - Tara and I went out and visited the Garden Tent (the wedding tent) adjacent to Meadowbrook Hall. It will be a very elegant setting for our Rummage Sale - but the parking is the same - it's just on the other side of the lot from the Pavilion!

We'll have signs posted to help you find us! Tickets are now on sale online - so mark the date on your calendar, and plan to join us for the 1st Annual Scrapbook & Craft Rummage Sale!!
